godspeed

Until a friend texted that his father passed away in a motorcycle accident, I never thought anything important was communicated via text messages. Those little thought bubbles we send to one another and arrive on our phones with a ring/jingle or vibrate, seem so content to convey small information about where we are at or what we are doing but never a medium for those close to us to share very personal and private information. Sure, well-worded and well-timed texts have gotten people laid but conveying something meaningful seems like too much for the crisp, context-less words making up a message.

My heart goes out to the friends and family who lost a very special person this week, to whom I convey my deepest regrets and best wishes in the immediate and distant future.
